Sunny September Saturday!

We had glorious weather this weekend - perfect for a trip over to Oxford - Pete is (dare I mention it?) forty on Thursday, so he put on the barbecue and invited us to share the celebrations!

As weekends almost always fill up extremely quickly, it wasn't possible for the whole Hart clan to make it to Headington, but those of us who were there quickly brought laughter and chatter to the garden - it seems like ages since we'd got together.. in fact it's over five months since Mary got married!

After burgers and cake, we went to the fantastic Quarry park, where Jordan and his pals play football for the local team - in fact, in the match we played ('adults versus children' - with Lisa as a 'child' - she's only little!) they beat us a very comfortable 11-8) with hardly any injuries.

It's definitely been a glorious weekend - and a full one, too: on Saturday morning, Chris and I built his 'new' PC (stripping some rather unreliable components out of his existing case, and installing a new motherboard, processor, memory, graphics card and Windows 7 - all bought from eBuyer for much less than the cost of an equivalent pre-built PC - it's always the best way to do it... if all the components work when they arrive!), and he went with his Scout group to Legoland on Sunday. By all accounts, it's one of the best times of year to go, since it's quietened down substantially from the summer rush - and when the weather's pleasant, even the wet rides are worthwhile! Lenni and I spent the afternoon in the garden - she cleared the raised bed (she loves to dig!) and I trimmed back the leylandii, so they didn't encroach too much in what used to be the lawned section of the garden. Among the branches were brambles and some strange climbing weed - there was (and still is) plenty to shred!

And so the week begins again - I shall leave you with some sunny photos from Saturday.. there are plenty more (as always) in the Gallery: www.mus-ic.co.uk/gallery/PeteBirthday2010
